Twice a year Grand Rapids Community College hosts a huge High School Swimmeet showcasing teams from throughout the region & the state. Each year the girl's meet is held on the 3rd Saturday of September, while the boy's is run on the 3rd Saturday of December. What makes this meet so special is that it swam in meters instead of yards. This unique event is designed to foster competition, good sportsmanship, and a lot of fun.
Generally between 12-24 teams will compete in the Raider Sprints, and all money generated from this event goes into the GRCC Athletic Scholarship Fund.
Joey Sutherlin is the Aquatic Supervisor and he handles all the non-pool/swimming portions of the meet (entry fees, officials, T-Shirts, etc..,). Brad Koch is our Meet Manager and he does a great job of getting teams to sign up and making sure the meet is up to the high standards we've set in our creed. Eric and Kevin Baker (Son's of Dan Baker) have been our officials since we began this meet back in 1998.
Here is the Raider Sprint Relay's Event List: Diving relay, 200 Medley relay, 50 Backstroke, 200 Butterfly relay, 50 Freestyle, 100 Ind. Medley, 200 Breaststroke relay, 50 Butterfly, 200 Backstroke relay, 50 Breaststroke, 200 Freestyle relay.

Medals will be awarded to the top four individuals or teams in each event. Ribbons will be awarded to places five through twelve.
