- To celebrate those individuals who exemplify Raider Values in action through their work at GRCC.
- To motivate employees to live the Raider Values each day
- To demonstrate top leadership commitment to the Raider Values
- To make the Raider Values an on-going part of the GRCC culture.
- To provide recognition for the "unsung heroes" who collectively create the Raider Value spirit
Eligibility:
Any employee (full-time, part-time, adjunct) who has worked at GRCC for a minimum of 6 months is eligible to win the award. An employee is eligible for the Raider Spirit Award once every five years.
Method of Recognition:
The award is presented by the President at the end of a designated college-wide gathering such as a Learning Day or the Holiday Breakfast. The President will read a personalized proclamation to the recipient.
Each recipient receives:
- An Indiana Jones fedora (hat) with a special Team GRCC pin on the band given only to Raider Sprit winners
- A Team GRCC travel mug.
- Two $15 gift certificates to the Heritage Restaurant
- Two tickets to Cinemark movie theatre
- Picture taken with the President which is framed along with the proclamation
- Name and pictures published in GRCC TODAY
- Lots of congratulations from fellow employees
Nomination process:
Anyone can nominate a GRCC employee to win the Raider Spirit Award by completing a Spirit Award nomination form. The electronic form is available here and nominations can be submitted at any time. They will be kept on file for 6 months.
Selection process:
A committee of 4 past Raider Spirit recipients individually review nominations based on how the nomination demonstrates 2 to 3 Raider Values on a scale of 1 to 5 (with 5 being highest) and how the nominee serves as a model for others for 2 to 3 Raider Values on a scale of 1 to 5.
