Policy Type: Executive Limitations
Treatment of People
With respect to treatment of all students, staff, volunteers, customers, vendors, and citizens, the President may not cause or allow any practice that is inhumane, unfair, undignified, discriminatory, illegal, unsafe, disrespectful, or unnecessarily intrusive. Furthermore, the President may not fail to provide appropriate confidentiality and privacy; operate without informing employees of personnel procedures, or fail to provide opportunities for personal and professional development of Trustees, students or employees.
Fiscal Management
The President may not cause or allow assets to be unprotected, inadequately maintained or unnecessarily risked. Furthermore, budgeting for any fiscal period or for the remaining part of any fiscal period shall not deviate significantly from board Ends, risk fiscal jeopardy, fail to be based on a wide base of input, or fail to be derived from a multi-year plan. The president may not operate without purchasing procedures that include opportunities for minority and women owned enterprises to do business with the College.
Compensation & Benefits
The President may not cause or allow employees, consultants, contract workers, volunteers, or his own compensation and benefits to jeopardize fiscal integrity or public image, or be outside Board approved guidelines.
Emergency Executive Succession
The President may not have fewer than two senior executives that are familiar with Board and President issues and processes.
Communication and Counsel to the Board
The President may not permit the Board to be inadequately informed regarding relevant trends, anticipated adverse media coverage or political consequences to the College or its interests.
Accreditation
The President may not allow the quality of the College as a whole or any of its academic programs or services to fall below accreditation standards.
