Marketing is a dynamic field driven by the need to understand consumer behavior and satisfy customer expectations. Marketing can determine the success or failure of a product. For this reason, business professionals need to understand marketing concepts. Marketing involves studying the 4 P’s: product, pricing, promotion, and placement. Through GRCC’s Marketing programs, you can earn an Associate in Business degree or a Marketing Certificate. You’ll learn the concepts, methods, and strategies used to:
- Identify business opportunities and solve marketing problems
Determine customer needs and expectations
Plan, promote, and distribute products
Some areas in which you’ll gain knowledge or develop skills include:
- Marketing operations
- Marketing research
- Satisfying customer expectations
- Distribution and logistics
- International marketing
You’ll prepare for positions in marketing areas such as merchandising, advertising, personal selling, sales promotion, public relations, publicity, or related fields. This two-semester program prepares students for basic positions such as:
- Sales Representative
- Customer Representative
- Marketing Assistant
- Merchandiser
All of the courses taken in this program can be applied toward an associate degree. The job outlook for marketing and sales occupations continues to be good.
The following recommendations are presented as a guide. Courses may be taken in any order, as long as all prerequisites are met.
