Labor Relations

The responsibilities of staff include:

  • Administration of union contracts, employee handbooks, policies and procedures.

  • Grievance investigation and administration.

  • Dispute mediation and resolution.

  • Employee coaching for performance.

  • Monitoring and compliance with various labor laws.

The following unions or employee groups represent Grand Rapids Community College employees:

  • Grand Rapids Community College Office Personnel (GRCCOP) represents full and part time employees working in various office positions throughout the college.

  • College Employees Benefit Association (CEBA) represents employees working in non-supervisory occupations as custodians, printing services and in the skilled trades.

  • Faculty Association represents full and part time faculty teaching credit and non-credit occupational classes.

  • Meet and Confer Employees include all administration, administrative support, business and technical training, campus police and technical/academic professional services, and are not represented by a union.
