Women's Studies at GRCC

WIN (Women’s Issues Now)

Women’s Issues Now is a student group designed to inform and advocate for the rights of modern women. WIN is a non-politically based group which allows us to represent a wide range of beliefs and views. WIN does this by participating in events planned by the group, including fundraisers for YWCA Domestic Violence Shelter and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, or our “Wednesdays are for Women” events at the Steelcase Room on 3 Main. These events include sharing information on a variety of topics impacting women today and organizations such as Women’s Resource Center, the YWCA Crisis Center and Counseling Services, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Planned Parenthood Centers of West Michigan, and of course, our own GRCC Women’s Studies initiative and GRCC Counseling and Support Services. We are also participating in Equal Pay Day on April 24, a Women’s Resource Center initiative to increase awareness of the need for equal pay for equal work. We are a vibrant group of young women empowering ourselves even as we increase awareness for others. Join us!
