Community Partnership
The ASLC works from the framework of developing Community Partnerships with community organizations on the basis of creating quality learning experiences. Partnerships are designed to evolve over a 3-year period allowing for an increase in communication, better planning and coordination, and the ability to identify and measure agreed upon outcomes.
Community Partner Model & Expectations
The Center provides two models of partnership when working with community organizations: Community Associates and Community Scholars. GRCC Community Partnership Model
Becoming a Community Partner
The ASLC engages in a limited number of partnerships to maintain the integrity of the ASL experience for students, faculty, and the community partner.

Why Partner?
- CAPCITY: Helps balance issues of capacity. It is our desire to avoid any extra work upon our community partner to accommodate random students needing service experience.
- COMMUNICATION: To assure successful experiences every relationship needs good communication. By partnering with the Center, we can provide more meaningful experiences by creating appropriate trainings, workshops, orientations necessary so that everyone is working from the same framework.
- QUALITY: We emphasize quality not quantity. We take community partners threshold for capacity (supervision, space, etc.) into consideration to ensure a quality service experience.
