To apply for a tutor…

To apply to be a tutor. . .
1. You must be currently registered for a minimum of six credit hours.
2. Tutors must have a grade point average (G.P.A.) of 3.0 or higher in the subject area(s) they tutor and an overall G.P.A. of at least 3.0. Students transferring from another college must have attained a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher in the subject area(s) they tutor and an overall G.P.A. of at least 3.0 at the original institution attended.
3. Secure a faculty recommendation. You may have already received a letter in the mail explaining that you have been recommended by a faculty member to be a tutor. If you have not received this letter, you need to get a recommendation from a faculty member who has been your instructor in the subject area that you with to tutor. You can pick up the form you need in the Academic Support Center Tutoring Office (Room 232, Library, Second Floor).
4. Prospective tutors must also successfully complete an interview to be hired for a tutoring position. Once you have secured your faculty recommendation, you can schedule your interview in the Academic Support Center Tutoring Office.
