The Delta Strategy To build the capacity of our community to solve our challenging and complex problems by engaging in the Delta Strategy community improvement process with people and organizations seeking change.
Delta Strategy serves as a catalyst for social change by fostering community learning and problem-solving. We help build a community in which all members and sectors are empowered to participate and effectively create a better future for all. Delta Strategy enhances community effectiveness in addressing seemingly intractable issues through cross-sector dialogue and collaboration. Experienced and skilled Delta Strategy facilitators convene and facilitate Opportunities to Participate Several hundred leaders from across the community attend The Delta Strategy's Community Work Session every year. Informal and formal leaders and community folks are invited to participate in dialogue and understanding of a particular issue facing those of us in the Greater Grand Rapids area. Demonstration Projects: from Pilot to Launch Outreach Events We are pleased to present at special events each year a chance for you to create a greater understanding of our focus issue. Since Delta's beginnings in 1998, we have had an Advisory Team to provide guidance and community input to our overall strategies. This group welcomes additional participants who bring perspectives not currently represented on the team. Each of our Dialogue/Action Groups and other community problem-solving initiatives use Delta Strategy Facilitators. They help groups develop their goals, identify and use data, build group membership and leadership, use problem-solving tools, and create trust and teamwork. Most of these facilitators have either presented or been participants in The Delta Strategy Facilitation Training workshops. Currently, The Delta Strategy Facilitator Training workshop sessions are being offered to community, agency, and business folks who feel they need these special skills. Both basic and expanded sessions are offered.
