STUDENTS

Curriculum Service Learning
Each semester, many faculty members elect to teach Academic Service Learning classes. These classes allow students meaningful opportunities to work in the community doing service work while learning course content. Faculty members may choose to send students to ASLC events to obtain service hours or coordinate their own projects. Students gain real-world experience and receive an Academic Service Learning Endorsement on their transcript. Video of Student Testimonial

Event Service Learning
Event ASL involves a commitment to a particular event coordinated by the ASLC such as “Make a Difference Day”, “Martin Luther King Day”, and “National Day of Service.” Students are encouraged to participate in our Event Service Learning experiences. These opportunities are open to the campus and allow students to serve on specific Days of Service. Students should register directly at the ASLC. -see link for detailed discription of ASL Events.

Volunteer
Students interested in volunteering are expected to view our new web based volunteer and community leadership web site “Get Involved.” This site is designed to expose students to many volunteer opportunities in the community.
