How do I select a major.... The basic steps required to select a suitable career or college major are the same.  The first and most important step is to conduct a thorough self-assessment.  Think of a self-assessment as "taking a picture of yourself on the inside."  To help you get started, you may want to complete Step 1 of the 4-Step Career Development Process.
