PeopleSoft 8.9 Help Guide

 

ISSUE:            I have a PeopleSoft log-in, but my username or password is not working.

 

Things to check:

·        Remember that in CSPROD, user names are in upper case.

·        On-line Employee Center (formerly e-GRCC) log-in requires a “W” in front of the employee ID #  (ex: W0123456)

·        Passwords are case sensitive; make sure your caps lock key is not on.

·        If still experiencing problems, contact the Helpdesk at X-3688.

 

ISSUE:            I am trying to get to the login page or a page in PeopleSoft, but the page will not load or does not display correctly.

 

Things to check:

·        Check the navigation; previous bookmarks and favorites will no longer work.

·        Confirm connection to the correct database, i.e. – CSPROD is displayed in the address bar.

·        Clear internet cache and retry.

·        Confirm browser compatibility; latest version of Internet Explorer is preferred.

·        Attempt to replicate on a different computer, if possible.

·        If unable to resolve, contact the Helpdesk at X-3688 or ITHELP@grcc.edu.

 

ISSUE:            I am able to login, but I do not seem to have the same access I had before.

 

Things to check:  

·        Confirm connection to the correct database; i.e. CSPROD. (check address bar)

·        Confirm correct navigational path.

·        Clear internet cache and retry.

·        Confirm browser compatibility; latest version of Internet Explorer or FireFox.

·        Attempt to replicate on a different computer, if possible.

·        If unable to resolve, contact the Helpdesk at X-3688 or ITHELP@grcc.edu.

 

ISSUE:            I am able to login, but I am unable to find what I am looking for.

 

Things to check:

·        Use the navigation guide found on the Learn 8.9 page – www.grcc.edu/learn89

·        Use the navigation search feature within PeopleSoft 8.9

·        Check with a co-worker or someone with similar access

·        Contact a member of the Advance Team
·        If unable to resolve, contact the Helpdesk at X-3688 or ITHELP@grcc.edu.

 

 

ISSUE:            I am logged in, but what I am trying to do is not working.

 

            Things to check:

·        Check with a co-worker or colleague to see if anyone else is experiencing a similar problem.  

·        If others are experiencing similar issues:

§         Contact your Supervisor or Departmental “super user.”  If appropriate, CWIS Team Leaders and/or “super users” should contact the appropriate analyst directly.

§         Check e-mail to determine if this is a known issue.

§         Contact the HelpDesk at X-3688 to communicate the issue, the number of users affected in your area, and the services impacted.

·        If not:

§         Clear internet cache and retry.

§         Confirm browser compatibility; latest version of Internet Explorer is preferred.

§         Attempt to replicate on a different computer, if possible.

§         If unable to resolve, contact the Helpdesk at X-3688

                        Answer:

FAQ:   I am able to login, but I can’t find my Leave Bank information.

Answer:  Leave Bank balance information is now part of the pay advice view.  Select “View Paycheck” and scroll to the bottom.

 

            FAQ:   My “Download to Excel” button is not working.

Answer:  Many campus computers may need an Excel configuration update for this new feature.  Pop-up blockers may also impact this functionality.  The information on how to troubleshoot this is above.  If you have difficulty completing this yourself, contact the Helpdesk at X-3688 

            FAQ:   How do I “clear my internet cache?”

Answer:  See the help topics listed above, or ask an Advance Team member.

 

FAQ:   How do I reset my favorites and/or bookmarks in PeopleSoft 8.9?

Answer:  Use the new “My Favorites” functionality in PeopleSoft 8.9.  This way, it doesn’t matter which computer you are using, your favorites will follow you!  Ask a colleague or an Advance Team member for assistance.  (Check the Learn 8.9 website often, as we will continue to add “How To” information)

 

            FAQ:   I’m a faculty member and I need help with the new Faculty Center.

                        Answer:  Contact the Registrar’s office at 234-4121.
