CLEP (College Level Examination Programs)
Grand Rapids Community College awards credit toward graduation for successful completion in certain subject
and general examinations of the College Level Examination Programs (CLEP).
- The CLEP examination is offered to any college or non-college student.
- Each institution sets its own policy regarding the acceptance of CLEP examinations and the amount of credits they award.
- If you desire to transfer CLEP credit to another institution, then it is strongly suggested you check with that institution regarding their CLEP acceptance policy prior to taking the exam.
- CLEP exams are offered on an appointment basis twice a week.
- Registration deadlines are enforced but may be extended depending on test availability.
- There is a CLEP application to be filled out in the Assessment Center, room 325 of the Student Services Center.

Payment
We must receive your two separate payments at the time of registration.
An administration fee of $20 for GRCC is required to reserve your seat, which is non-transferable or refundable after the registration deadline, and ($72 starting July 1, 2009) CLEP fee can either be paid in a seperate check at the same time, or on the day of your test by credit card.
Scoring
A minimum percentile score of 50 out of 80 is required to pass at Grand Rapids Community College, with the exception of French, German and Spanish 4 semester credit exams. Check with your institution for their CLEP passing score requirements.
