AD/PN Nursing Program Fact Sheet Associate Degree Nursing (AD) / Practical Nursing (PN)
Waiting List: |
The AD Waiting List is approximately 3-4 years from the time you achieve your “Ready Date”. |
Ready Date: |
The date you finish your last program requirement. You will receive a letter from the Health Admissions Coordinator announcing this date. |
Program Requirements: |
AD & PN - High school graduate with a GPA of at least 2.5 or have a GED. |
While you're Waiting: |
You must take the courses listed in the curriculum annotated with double-asterisks**. You may also take the courses with three asterisks***.
As a Nursing Student, you will be given early enrollment once you are on the waiting list. This date is usually 30 days before Academic Advising Day for the upcoming semester. You may do this yourself online at www.grcc.edu/studentcenter Make sure you have your password and your account is active. You can do this at the Registrar's Office. If this fails, you can enroll in the Nursing Programs Office with the Secretary. Enrollment will not be done over the phone. |
Costs: |
You can obtain an approximate cost sheet online from the Nursing home page ( www.grcc.edu/nursing ), or from the Nursing Programs Office. In addition to tuition, fees, and books, you should expect to pay for various other program-related expenses; for example, uniforms, transportation, and supplies. |

Legal Restrictions: |
- Felony convictions will prevent you from completing program requirements and taking licensure, certification, and registry examinations, thus affecting your employment option.
- Federal and state laws require a criminal background check of those assigned to long-term care facilities, psychiatric agencies, nursing homes, and homes for the aged. When assigned to such a facility, you may need an additional criminal background check and permit release of the findings to GRCC and the health care facility. |
