GRCC is governed by the board of trustees, which consists of seven members elected at large in biennial elections. The president of the college serves as an ex officio member of the board. The trustees serve without compensation for overlapping terms of six years. Trustees operate under the policy governance model. The board meets once a month in a public session.

Notice of Work Session and Closed Session
The Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees will meet in a work session beginning at 3:30 pm on Monday, June 15, 2026. This meeting will include a closed session for the purposes of discussing strategies for collective bargaining pursuant to Section 8(1)(c) of the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
Notice of Regular Meeting
The Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026. The regular meeting will be held in the Board Library on the 5th floor of Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall and is open to the public under the Michigan Open Meeting Act.
