Construction Updates
Lyon street is currently under construction until Friday, September 19, 2008 between Lafayette and Ransom. It will be open to car traffic but will be very congested. We strongly recommend students and employees use other entry points to campus.
1) From the North – enter campus from Michigan to Bostwick
2) From the South or East – enter campus from Fulton to Ransom
3) From the West – enter campus from Division to Fountain
Students should consider alternative programs to travel to campus and park. There are several quick, convenient and affordable programs.
- DASH - $150.00 per semester plus a $20 refundable deposit. Continuous shuttle service from an off campus lot to and from GRCC. Never have to wait in the parking line again! Sign up at www.grcc.edu/emarketplace
- Greenride – Carpool! Be green, save money, and reduce the number of cars on campus. Visit www.grcc.edu/greenride to sign up.

- Lyon street was poured; two lanes from Lafayette through Ransom intersection, tying into the existing 4 lanes from ransom down to division on Friday 8/29
- The Lyon/Barclay and Lyon/Ransom intersections will be open on Tuesday. The Lyon/Ransom intersection MAY have two lanes of concrete by then or may just be gravel. The Lyon/Barclay intersection will be gravel.
- South sidewalk will be passable from Lafayette to Division. If all the sidewalks are not poured they will be filled in with gravel.
Thursday, 9/4 through the Weekend:
- The contractors will be picking away at the remaining concrete work, including intersections, curbs, parking lanes, sidewalks, etc. throughout the Lyon corridor. There will be single lane closures as necessary to accomplish each sub-area.
