Electronics Program
Electrical and electronics technology is the application of scientific theories and principles in the design, production, installation, testing, service, use, and control of electrical and electronic parts, equipment, and systems. GRCC's Electronics Technology program is part of the Applied Technology department and offers several options for prospective students, including a one-year Electronics Servicing Certificate, a two-year Electronics Technology Degree, as well as the option to transfer to a four-year University for an advanced Electronics degree.
Students in this area are exposed to theory and history, applied mathematics, making measurements, circuitry, construction, current and voltage, safety, pneumatic and electronic instruments, instrumentation, maintenance and repair, and much more. Specialties in this area are many and include instrumentation, construction electricity, robotics, broadcast communications, industrial electronics, radio/TV, radar, automated equipment, and digital technology. Careers available to students who obtain Electronics degrees/certificates include; Service Shop Technician, Industrial Manufacturing Technician, Electronics Engineering Technician, Electrical and Electronics Engineer, Field Service Technician, Technical Writer, and Technical Sales.
