Energy Savings Total

Grand Rapids Community College has saved more than $10 million through its energy conservation efforts over the last eleven years.

GRCC launched its energy program in May of 2008. Since then, energy consumption has been reduced by 498,231 MMBTUs. That reduction translates into the equivalent of 53,105 metric tons of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere, or 11,063 passenger cars removed from the road, or 1,361,659 trees planted.
