GroupWise Mobile Server
The GroupWise Mobile Server (GMS) allows PDAs and SmartPhones wireless synchronization to GroupWise e-mail, calendar, contacts and folders. This process involves establishing your account on the GWMobile server, installing the Intellisync Mobile Suite client (software) on the mobile device, and performing an initial synchronization.
GMS is compatible with Palm PDAs and Treos with version 3.5.3 of the Palm OS and higher. Most of the newer Palm OS devices are compatible. GMS is also compatible with Windows Mobile Phones and PDAs, version 2002 up to 5.0. It also supports Symbian phones from versions 7.0 to 9.0. and BREW 2.0. GMS does not, however, support Blackberry or iPhone devices.

Establishing Your Account on the GWMobile Server
1. Open an Internet browser and type http://gwmobile.grcc.edu into the address bar. The Intellisync Mobile Suite login screen will appear.
2. Enter your GroupWise user name and password, then click on Go
3. Fill in the form, paying careful attention to the required fields and click on Submit
4. Choose the correct type of device you will be connecting, then click Next
Depending on your preferences and the type of phone you have, there are three basic ways to install the Intellisync software on your phone.
1. If you have a Treo, Windows Mobile Phone, or Symbian phone device you can choose to have a SMS message sent to your phone and install the software over the air. If you choose the over the air method you must select your carrier (i.e. Sprint, Verizon, Cingular) and then type in your phone number. You will receive a SMS message on your phone. Click on the link on your phone and the installation will begin.
2. If you have a PDA such as an iPaq, Axim, Tungsten, or Zire running Windows Mobile or Palm OS you will click on the Next button underneath No, thanks. Please install through my PC.
3. You can also complete the install by downloading the software directly to your device (See instructions below). Click on the Next button underneath No, thanks. Please install through my PC.
**Note: You may incur data charges for the SMS message, installation over the air and subsequent synchronization of mail, contacts, folders, and calendar.
**LRTS is not responsible for these charges. You must check with your carrier regarding data plans for your phone.

I. Intellisync Mobile Suite Client Installation from the Device

From your hand held device, open a Web browser2.
Go to http://gwmobile.grcc.edu/install.3.
At the INTELLISYNC MOBILE SUITE SETUP screen, enter your GroupWise username and password and click NEXT.4.
The system will detect the device you are using and offer you the program. Agree to the installation by selecting INSTALL SOFTWARE.5.
Click Yes to any Download warnings.6.
At the download window, check OPEN FILE AFTER DOWNLOAD and click YES.a. Note, the device may reboot before starting the installation.

The installation will then begin. Status bars will run, when they complete, a screen will appear. Enter your GroupWise password and select “OK”.8.
A Screen will pop up to alert you that this is your first synchronization. It will offer you a choice regarding calendar entries. Select Refresh to overwrite existing phone data. Select Merge to combine the data ( note that selecting merge may cause duplicates)9.
On the first synchronization the system will ask you to scribble on the screen to create an encryption code.10.
The device will then complete the initial synchronization.From here, you may want to configure certain features of Intellisync. Customization is completed both on the device and the GWmobile website.
II. Device Configuration

Go to your home menu and click on Intellisync.2.
Click Settings to customize:a. Notifications
b. When to Sync
c. What to Sync
d. Security
e. Connection…
III. Account Configurations. This allows you to modify the default synchronization settings.

From your PC or laptop, open a browser and go to http://gwmobile.grcc.edu2.
Enter your GROUPWISE USER ID and your GROUPWISE PASSWORD and click GO.3.
Your GROUPWISE MOBILE SUITE mailbox, which is synced with your GROUPWISE client mailbox, will appear.4.
Click on Account in the upper right hand corner and select Settings.5.
Personalize the synchronization between your GROUPWISE account and your MOBILE SUITE account by selecting desired categories and then click SUBMIT.a. Click on the link Pick Contacts to Sync. Place checkmarks next to the address books that you would like to send to your phone.
**Note: The Large Novell Address Book, Frequent Contacts, and any shared address book that you do not own cannot be synchronized.

Once you’re finished click DONE.You must also disable all other PIM conduits to the Palm or Pocket PC device. If you are currently using HotSync on your computer with a Palm device do the following.
1. Right-click the HotSync client in the system tray.
2. Click Custom.
3. Select Calendar, then click Change
4. Select Do nothing, then click Set as default
.5. Select Contacts, then click Change
6. Select Do nothing, then select Set as default
.7. Select Tasks, then click Change
.8. Select Do nothing, then click Set as default
.9. Click Done
.To do so on a Windows Mobile device do the following:
1. Double-click the ActiveSync icon in the system tray.
2. Click Tools > Options
3. Deselect the following items:
a. Enable synchronization with a server
