Faculty and staff may contact the Help Desk via email at ITHELP. Please include the following information with your email:

  • A complete description of the problem
  • The location of the printer and the Laser's Resource ID number for printer problems
  • Your phone number and location

You may also telephone the Help Desk at extension 3688.

Students may contact the Student Technology Helpdesk for assistance.

Reminders:  
  • Turn off your computer when you leave. For security reasons, faculty and staff members should power their workstation down when leaving for the day.

  • A security reminder for all Faculty, Adjuncts, Staff, and Student Workers.  Your Novell ids are not to be shared. It is a violation of Acceptable Use Agreement to share ids and passwords. Violations could revoke your account.

  • Novell accounts not logged into within six months are disabled, and will be expired if not renabled. To renable access, contact the help desk at 3688.

PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER FROM VIRUSES which can be transmitted as attachments to e-mail messages.

What to look for.

In an email, unless you can personally identify the sender, opening any attachment is unwise.  Malicious emails containing viruses will often appear to be from a legitimate source by using aliases such as "administrator@grcc.edu", "support@grcc.edu", webmaster@grcc.edu", etc.  GRCC employee groups, when using an established alias (such as ITHELP) will always include a personal identifier in the body of the e-mail message. 

What to do.

If you receive a suspicious email do not open the attachment and delete the email immediately.  If you have any questions, please call the LRTS Helpdesk at 3688.  Please do not forward the email to ITHELP unless requested by Helpdesk staff.
