Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Scholarships 

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation has opened the nominations process for the largest scholarships available to students and recent alumni from community colleges. Each award can total up to $30,000 annually. Completed applications are to be submitted to Kathleen Owens in the Counseling and Career Center Office, Student Center, room 326.

The Benjamin Gilman Scholarship
The Benjamin A. Gilman Study Abroad Scholarship provides financial assistance for Federal Pell Grant recipients who wish to study between 4 weeks and one year abroad. Students must be US Citizens or US Nationals enrolled at a US Institution of Higher Education and receiving a Federal Pell Grant at the time of application for the scholarship.

ISA Scholarships

ISA is one of the two student travel organizations which are accredited by GRCC. They offer an array of scholarship opportunities.

Boren Awards/National Security Education Program

Scholarships for study of world regions critical to U.S. interests including Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East. Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zeeland are excluded.

West Michigan World Trade Association Scholarships      

The West Michigan World Trade Association wishes to encourage students to expand their academic knowledge by offering them scholarships for qualifies study abroad programs. Scholarships will be awarded to students from West Michigan post-secondary academic institutions in amounts up to $1,000 and are based on program costs and financial need. See Prof. Anderson for more information and applications.

Glimpse Correspondents Program Grants

National Geographic’s Glimpse Magazine gives $600 stipends to students living overseas for 10 weeks who specialize in writing, photography, or video. Recipients are assigned their own editors and guaranteed publication.
