Structured Learning Assistance (SLA)
Structured Learning Assistance (SLA) is an academic support system which integrates content specific study and learning strategies into traditionally high-risk classes. The program consists of a series of weekly review sessions. SLA sessions offer students an opportunity to gather with other students in order to compare notes, discuss important concepts, and develop strategies for studying. Sessions are open to all students who want to improve their understanding of the course material, as well as their grades. If a student's grade falls below an 80% for the course, however, SLA session attendance becomes mandatory.
