The automation of manufacturing and processing equipment continues to change the world of work, challenging technicians to have increased skillsets. Our program rises to the ever-evolving industry needs by offering hands-on training in three locations that provide state-of-the-art Machine Tool labs with a staff of instructors dedicated to preparing students for a rewarding career.
Students in our program learn both the soft and technical skills needed to be a successful technician including teamwork, problem solving, quality principles and communication skills. Technical skills students will learn, based on National Skill Standards, include machine tool operations, computer numerical control (CNC) programming, computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM).
We’ve designed the Tooling and Manufacturing program to prepare graduates for success as they enter into positions that pave the way for careers in engineering, manufacturing management, industrial sales and technical training, or owning and operating a company.
We encourage students to tailor the program to meet their education and training needs by offering:
- work experience through co-op courses.
- the potential to bypass courses by passing challenge exams.
- the option to choose a certificate before completing their degree.
- advanced-standing credits available for many high school students.
