High School Music Fiesta

Saturday, November 22, 2014

8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

GRCC Music Center

GRCC's second annual High School Music Fiesta is much like an honors day with one great change – high school students will be performing with our own outstanding wind ensemble, concert choir, orchestra, and guitar ensemble student groups here at GRCC!

Our goal is to host a fulfilling day of music making, along with genuine insight into a day in the life of a college music major. We believe that all students involved in music at the high school level will benefit from this exciting opportunity. We hope you are interested in participating in what is sure to be a fulfilling musical and educational experience.

Program Highlights:

Students interested in recording technology will engage in a full-day experience in a studio environment, working with our recording technology faculty as they prepare to record the final concert of the day.

Students interested in composition will have the opportunity to work with our composition faculty. Students interested in piano or accompanying will have the opportunity to work privately with our piano faculty. Composition and piano students may sign up for a full day, or those interested in ensemble participation may sign up for a short afternoon session.

Master classes are offered in winds, percussion, strings, voice, and piano. If you are interested in performing at one of the afternoon Master classes, please consider submitting a recording of a recent performance. Following submission, students will be notified if they are selected to perform.

We also have a performance anxiety clinic that all students may attend.
