Grand Rapids Community College is teaming up with Comprenew Environmental, a local nonprofit electronics recycler, to collect unwanted electronics as part of an upcoming event honoring Peter Wege – local philanthropist, author and creator of the economicology principle.    The collection is scheduled for October 5 -7.

Comprenew’s e-Drop Trailers will be will be stationed at three GRCC campus locations to collect everything from old computers and accessories (monitors, keyboards, mice, printers, speakers), to cellular items, audio/visual equipment (including televisions, DVD/VCR players), and other miscellaneous electronics.

“The three R’s are just a small part of what Peter Wege is all about,” said Trish Castiglione of the GRCC Foundation, whose office is hosting a community event in his honor on October 11.  “By simply recycling electronic items – the kinds of things everyone probably has around the house but aren’t really sure what to do with – we are playing an important role for the environment.  And making Mr. Wege very happy.”

• Bostwick Commons (Bostwick Ave., between Lyon and Fountain streets) on GRCC’s Main Campus
• Cook Administration Building (Corner of Prospect Ave. and Fulton St., NE Corner of parking lot) on GRCC’s DeVos Campus
• Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center Loading Dock on Ransom St. (between Lyon St. and Fountain streets.) on GRCC’s Main Campus
