GRCC Students to Raise Funds for Schooling African Women and Girls - Saturday Night Event Will Feature Music, Art and Silent Auction

Who: Students in the International Geographical Honor Society of Grand Rapids Community College, to benefit Camfed USA.

What: A benefit show to raise money for education of sub-Saharan African females; event will feature six musical acts from Michigan - Maniacal, Maurice Clark, Venson, Trav Waylaa, March Forth, and #LOMOBB; Dean Martian will be DJ-ing all night; and the 616 Teknique break dance crew will be performing.

Why: In addition to classes, uniforms, books, supplies, transportation, exam fees, and room and board are some of the expenses are needed. Three hundred dollars can send a girl to school for a year in Africa.

When: Saturday, March 31 at 9 pm.

Where: Billy’s Lounge, 1437 Wealthy St SE., in Eastown. A donation of $5.00 will be collected at the door.
