GRCC Student Groups Start Semester With 9/11 Memorial - Student Veterans Featured at Ceremony Thursday

On Thursday, September 8, the Grand Rapids Community College Student Congress and Campus Activities Board will host a brief memorial service observing the 10th anniversary of 9/11 on the Bostwick Commons at 10:00 a.m.

The ceremony will include readings by GRCC Student Veterans and will be held at the site of a new flower display placed in the Bostwick Commons specifically for this anniversary commemoration.

“Students have been in class less than two weeks, but this is a priority of theirs, so we are moving fast to host this memorial,” said Student Life Director Eric Mullen.

GRCC’s Student Congress represents the students at Grand Rapids Community College, and is dedicated to promoting their interests and welfare in the college decision-making process. The GRCC Campus Activities Board is a group of students who coordinate social, recreational and educational activities to improve the student experience.

Grand Rapids Community College, established in 1914, offers opportunities for over 30,000 students annually in degree courses, certification and training programs, workshops and personal enrichment classes. GRCC holds classes on the downtown Grand Rapids campus as well as several additional locations throughout Kent and Ottawa counties.
