Welcome to Grand Rapids Community College!

While this is a time of transition at GRCC, the learning opportunities for our students and our community continue to develop.

  • GRCC will open a new Learning Corner with the help of Lake Michigan Credit Union on the city’s northwest side
  • A recent restructuring of the Nursing program will enable students to go year-round and will dramatically increase our capacity to help meet the state-wide nursing shortage as well as cut the waiting time for students wanting to enter the program
  • Workforce training remains a strong focus through our many programs and at our various sites, including the M-Tec locations in Grand Rapids and Holland
  • The college is considered a major partner in a variety of economic development activities throughout our service area
  • The strong academic programs continue to serve our students and with the addition of the Michigan Transfer Network online our students are easily able to find information about college transfer credits between institutions.

The rich academic heritage of GRCC was clearly acknowledged when we were recently named a “Vanguard College” by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA-CASI). We also earned full accreditation for another seven years. These are, indeed, major achievements.

You may be a first time learner, an older adult returning for retraining or a retired senior attending a program through our Adult Learners Center. You may be seeking to earn those important credits that will be important as you transfer to another institution. You may be retraining yourself for an entire new career. Whatever your goal, you can find your path to learning opportunities at GRCC.

You may be taking classes during the day or at night on our Main Campus. You may be at an off-campus site or at one of the Learning Corners. You may be at M-Tec or you might even be taking a course on-line. Whatever your place, you will find GRCC provides you an opportunity.

I am pleased to welcome you to this college. It is a great place to be. I wish you the best as you pursue your learning adventure in the year ahead.

Regards,

Anne E. Mulder, Ph.D.
