RaiderCast
About
GRCC has started a pilot project to broadcast audio and video over the Internet. We call it "RaiderCast." When operational, audio and video files will be:
- captured in the classroom or produced almost anywhere.
- published to the web or secured with Blackboard®.
- distributed using a publisher/subscriber model.
- streamed, live or archived, using our Real/Helix™ Server.
RaiderCast has many implications for supporting teaching and learning. Some include:
- Means of reaching Flexible Learning Strategic Priority established by Board (new delivery methods designed to meet student needs).
- Extends campus classroom – allowing students to view content on-demand. The same content can be used for different modes of instruction (e.g. video to supplement online classes).
- Can be used as a communications tool or as a way to “test-drive courses” before enrollment.
