Volunteering in the Community:
GRCC's Get Involved! BlackBoard Site &
United Way's Volunteer Solutions Website

Volunteering is a form of civic engagement which helps to address needs in the local community.

There are two easy ways to search for volunteer opportunties in the community:

1)          Visit the GRCC Get Involved! BlackBoard site:
This site lists volunteer opportunities presented to the Academic Service-Learning Center from community
              organizations.

2)         Visit the United Way's Volunteer Solutions Website:

The Academic Service-Learning Center partners with The Heart of West Michigan United Way's Volunteer
Center to provide access to current volunteer opportunities for our campus through the Volunteer Solutions
Database.  The Volunteer Center links volunteers with opportunities to serve our community, empowers
agencies to use volunteers effectively, and advocates for local community involvement.

Through the Volunteer Solutions database, students can search for volunteer opportunities tailored to their
interests and agencies can post opportunities to a targeted audience.  Finding local volunteer opportunities is
             easy and free!
