HS293: The History of American Foreign Relations

This special 200-level course will examine the historical systems and events that have driven the past, produced the present, and guide the future of US foreign relations. 

Students taking HS293 in the Winter semester of 2017 will engage important questions about America’s rise to the status of a global superpower, the world wars, the Cold War, the nation’s relationship with its allies as well as its complex economic, diplomatic, cultural and military adventures throughout the world, with a particular emphasis on Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the Caribbean islands, and Central America.
