Watch the video or listen to the audio about this exciting new initiative for GRCC. It is an opportunity for employees from across the college to read and discuss The World Is Flat by Thomas L. Friedman.
Groups of employees will meet and talk about the book’s content three times this academic year (November, January, & March).
Discussions will be around how we see the ideas in the book connecting with our work here at the college; that’s ALL our work no matter what our job title may read.

Today's Internet includes many ways to connect people, allowing them to create and share content. Blogs, Wikis, social bookmarking or tagging, photo or video sharing, even virtual worlds or Massively-Multiplayer Online Games (MMOGs) are used to promote social interaction and construction of knowledge. At the same time, websites are moving "from isolated information silos to sources of content and functionality, thus becoming computing platforms serving web applications to end users" (Web 2.0 as defined on Wikipedia).
Today's teachers work hard to create learning spaces and tools that promote interaction and the construction of knowledge among learners. At the same time, they sometimes find the current generation of content or learning management systems lacking. Register for a live webcast that demonstrates how today's teacher can harness the power of this next-generation Internet to appeal to the neXt-generation of learners.
