GEAR UP Wyoming is offering seventh grade students the opportunity to jump back into learning over the summer so they may prepare for a successful eighth grade year.
From July 22 through August 16, students at the Summer Learning Academy will build and improve upon both their math and English skillsets. Using the ALEKS math assessment and support tool, instructors will identify students' current skillsets and focus on the challenges they can help students overcome. Daily writing sessions will focus on math-related prompts and questions.
Field trips will include visits to GRCC and Aquinas College, as well as an excursion to the Frederick Meijer Gardens to learn how to design and create sculptures. A parent engagement day will also be part of our summer program.
