March 10, 2020 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — GRCC students looking for information about how their credits will transfer to other postsecondary schools have a new, more user-friendly online resource created through the Michigan Transfer Network.
The upgraded MiTransfer.org website allows students to search for courses, view information about the Michigan Transfer Agreement, and link to more information about transferring from and to institutions throughout the state.
The revamped site comes after nearly two years of development carried out by Michigan’s community colleges, public universities, and independent colleges and universities.
Students can use the site to not only learn about transferring college credits, but also for military and test credit. The site also connects students to information about GRCC admissions and academic advising.
“The upgraded MiTransfer.org site is a solid resource to help students make informed decisions about their educational pathway,” GRCC Registrar Valerie Butterfield said.
The statewide project is the result of a partnership of the Michigan Community College Association, the Michigan Association of State Universities and the Michigan Independent Colleges and Universities and is supported through the state budget.
GRCC students also have access to academic advisers in the Academic Advising and Transfer Center, located on the third floor of the Student Community Center, 122 Lyon St. NE.
Grand Rapids Community College offers learners of all ages opportunities to gain credits for degrees or transfer and in-demand career skills leading to rewarding careers. GRCC was established in 1914 – Michigan’s first community college -- and offers affordable classes on weekdays, evenings, Saturdays and online at locations throughout Kent and Ottawa counties.
