March 30 Update

We want to be flexible and responsive to students' concerns.

Toward that end, GRCC is implementing two options for this semester:

  1. At the end of the semester, you can petition to have your letter grade converted into Credit/No Credit grade
  2. We will also be offering you the option to retake a Winter 2020 course during a later semester.

We are working through the final details and processes to implement these changes. We will send a communication later this week with instructions on how to participate in either of these options.  We will also highlight how you can consult with various campus representatives (advisors, faculty, financial aid, etc.) so you can make the best decision based on your circumstances.

The Coronavirus has changed so much in the way we do things here are at GRCC. But what it has not changed – and cannot change – is us. If anything, this virus confirmed what I always believed to be true:

  • Our GRCC students are resilient and motivated
  • Our faculty members are caring and focused
  • Our support staff are passionate and dedicated

March 11 Update

Out of abundance of caution to prevent and contain the spread of the coronavirus, Grand Rapids Community College will begin delivering instruction through distance education on Monday, March 16, through Friday, April 3, effective for GRCC main and Lakeshore campuses until directed otherwise.

This comes after consulting with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and other higher education leaders.
