I graduated from Central Michigan University in 1986. I substitute taught for a year in the KISD and the OAISD.  In the fall of 1987, I began teaching at Delaney Alternative High School, part of the Grandville Public School system. I was a teacher/counselor/tutor/life coach, and for one year I was lead teacher/acting principal. In this role, I discovered that I have no taste for the administrative side of education, preferring instead to work with students. I was at Delaney until I moved to Grandville High School in the fall of 1999 as an English and history teacher. There I am still. In 1992, I began teaching adjunct English classes for Grand Rapids Community College. In my spare time, I can be found with my family travelling around this great state and great city!
