Hello, I'm Erik! I am an assistant instructor for the preschool classrooms. I went into early childhood education for: 1) the emphasis on active-learning (hands-on engagement with materials, participation and collaboration) in early childhood settings, 2) the frequent learning milestones achieved by young learners and 3) for the opportunity to co-teach among a team of incredible educators.
When I'm not at the school, I am studying for my Master's degree in Education from Central Michigan (my alma mater), teaching the Northview drum-line, reading or getting to know the Grand Rapids outdoors!
