Community College Consortium on Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness

Group of students talking on campus.

What training would benefit your school?

The Consortium is currently planning for the 2018-19 school year and is open to suggestions about what Title IX training your school might be interested in receiving.

Past discussions have included:

  • Compliance with Title IX.
  • Investigation training.
  • Viewing/Discussion of "The Hunting Ground."
  • A visit from Michigan First Lady Mrs. Sue Snyder.
  • Trauma-informed investigations.
  • Changing laws/regulations.
  • Educating faculty/staff.

The Community College Consortium began in 2016 as an effort to promote communication and problem-solving amongst those doing Title IX work at Michigan's community colleges. Three consortium meetings were held in 2016 and two in 2017, with multiple community colleges involved in planning and idea-sharing. We have collaborated over the years with the Michigan Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence, which has provided training for us on various topics.
