Open Enrollment 2020

Important Health Insurance Information

The insurance rates increased by 5.15%. The PA 152 CAP has been increased by 2%. This increase was distributed by the State of Michigan in September and takes effect January 1, 2020. Employee deductions are twice per month and these changes start on the 1/10/2020 paycheck.

HSA health plan participants:

  • The IRS increased the minimum deductible for HSA - qualified High Deductible Health Plans. Starting January 2020, the minimum annual deductible increases for single to $1,400 ($50 increase)/family to $2,800 ($100 increase).
  • HSA participants who wish to contribute to an HSA must complete a new HSA payroll deduction form for the 2020 calendar year.

Open Enrollment starts October 28 and runs through November 8, 2019 at 5 p.m.

The annual open enrollment period is the time during the year (without a qualifying event), when you have the opportunity to enroll or change your medical plans. Open Enrollment changes are effective January 1, 2020.

Please note: If you are enrolling in an HSA or FSA for 2020, waiving health coverage, making changes to your health plan, or adding /removing dependents you must complete the required open enrollment paperwork. If none of the above apply then you do not need to complete enrollment paperwork at this time.
