GRCC is committed to providing quality online instruction and also working to ensure student success in online courses.

Advisors, counselors, professors, staff and students themselves all play a role in contributing to enriching people's lives and contributing to the vitality of the community (GRCC's Vision). In this work, GRCC has selected Starfish EARLY ALERT from Starfish Retention Solutions Inc. to provide the ability for professors to raise flags (concerns) for students that appear to need additional support or assistance. In addition, automated flags are raised based on data in Blackboard such as missing assignments, grades, or course attendance activity.

Logging into your online course on a regular basis is an important part of succeeding in your course! If you are unable to login to your course within seven days, the Starfish system will automatically send you and the instructor of the course an email. This email is intended to provide students with additional support resources such as advising, counseling, technical support or online tutoring to empower students to be successful.
