CVT Certificate Application Process | Grand Rapids Community College

This application process is for individuals who have earned a minimum of an associate degree in a health-related field. Those who do NOT have a minimum of an associate degree or higher in a health-related field should refer to the A.A.A.S. Cardiovascular Technology pathway for admission requirements and information.

Before you apply to the CVT Certificate program

You must have earned a minimum of an associate degree in a health-related field by the application submission.
Recent or current employment in a health-related field for a minimum of one year.
Apply to GRCC, if you are not currently enrolled at GRCC.
Application Deadline: Applications will continue to be collected until all seats have been filled. All transcripts from other colleges or universities attended must be received by GRCC’s Enrollment Services to be considered for the 2023 Fall admission.

Admissions to the CVT Program at GRCC is based on points and a face-to-face interview process. Points are awarded based on academic achievement and the completion of the required documentation.

Note: This program is not eligible for Federal Financial Aid.

Application Requirements:

Fill out the application packet described below.
Submit all items in an envelope addressed to the Program Director of Cardiovascular Technology.
The entire packet must be delivered to GRCC Main Campus, Room 502 in the College Park Plaza Building.

Note: There will be a required CVT orientation day, TBD for students accepted into the program. You will be notified via email if you are accepted.

Program Admissions Packet Requirements	Potential Points Possible
Completed PAPER GRCC Application. Everyone, including past and current students, must complete this. There is no charge.	3 points
Cover Letter outlining your intent and interest to enter the CVT Program.	3 points
Resume documenting the past five (5) years of work experience.	3 points
Two letters of Recommendation from people that can speak to your employment, healthcare or academic skills: One from a current supervisor who has worked with you in the past three (3) years. This must be on company letterhead, signed and mailed directly to the CVT Program Director at the address listed above. One from a co-worker who has worked with you within the past three (3) years. This can be attached to your application when you submit.	4 points
Unofficial transcripts: Transcripts must verify a minimum of a C or better in all required foundational courses. Transcripts must verify awarded degree in health science field. Unofficial transcripts must be included in the packet. Official Transcripts sent to GRCC Enrollment Center.	3 points
