Associate Degrees

Associate of Arts

If you plan to transfer to another college or university and want to take courses that will lead to a degree at that institution, check the transfer course equivalencies for the school you are interested in attending, and learn more about the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA). We also recommend meeting with a counselor to make sure you are taking the courses you need for a seamless transition.

Associate of General Studies

Students who do not intend to transfer to a four-year institution may fulfill requirements and take other electives leading to this associate degree.

Industrial Maintenance Technology, Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences

Our Industrial Maintenance Technology degree will prepare you to install, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of industrial machinery used in manufacturing settings. Graduates with this degree will qualify to work as a First-Line Supervisor of Mechanics, Installers and Repairers, and could earn $68,088 per year -- the median salary for this job in Michigan.

Certificate Programs

If you plan to attend GRCC full-time, taking 12 or more credits per semester, you can plan to complete your certificate in one year.

Industrial Maintenance

Our Industrial Maintenance certificate program is designed to give you the basic skills required of a maintenance mechanic. All classes in the program are articulated into the Industrial Maintenance associate degree program.

Industrial Technology

Our Industrial Technology certificate program has an emphasis on CAD, electricity, and manufacturing. You will learn about the work that takes place in factories — from the manufacturing and assembling of products to the finished result.

Tooling and Manufacturing Technology

  • Metallurgy.
  • Quality assurance.

Welding Technology

Learn fundamental skills and processes behind different types of welding:

  • Arc welding.
  • Inert gas-shielded techniques
  • Oxyacetylene (gas) welding.

All credits earned in this certificate program may be applied toward the Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences in Welding Technology.
