GRCC is governed by the board of trustees, which consists of seven members elected at large in biennial elections. The president of the college serves as an ex officio member of the board. The trustees serve without compensation for overlapping terms of six years. Trustees operate under the policy governance model. The board meets once a month in a public session.

Notice of Special Meeting and Closed Session
The Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees will meet in special meeting at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026. The special meeting will include a closed session for the purposes of considering the periodic evaluation of an employee, pursuant to Section 8(1)(a) within the Michigan Open Meetings Act.
The special meeting is also called for the purposes of interviewing applicants to fill a vacant trustee position. Interviews will commence at 2:00 p.m.
This special meeting will be held in 108 Sneden Hall, 435 Fulton East (on the DeVos Campus of GRCC) and is open to the public under the Michgian Open Meetings Act.
Notice of Regular Meeting
The Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees will hold a regular on at 4:15 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2026. The regular meeting will be held in the Board Library on the 5th floor or Raleigh J. Finkelstein Hall and is open to the public under the Michigan Open Meeting Act.
