Notice - Board of Trustees Vacancy

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vacancy has occurred on the Grand Rapids Community College Board of Trustees. This is an elective position – the six-year term expires December 31, 2016.

Applicants must be a registered voter and reside within the boundaries of the District.  Letters of interested applicants must reach the Board of Trustees Office by 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 24th, 2015.  A cover letter including the reasons for your interest and resume listing your qualifications must be submitted.

Interviews by the Board of Trustees to fill the vacancy will take place on Monday, September 28th and Wednesday, September 30th, 2015.  The appointment to fill this un-expired term will be made by the Board of Trustees at a Special Board Meeting on Monday, October 5th, 2015 at 12:00 PM (noon).

GRCC is governed by the Board of Trustees, which consists of seven members elected at large in biennial elections. The president of the College serves as an ex officio member of the board. The Trustees serve without compensation for overlapping terms of six years. Trustees operate under the policy governance model. The Board meets once a month in a public session.
