I have taught at GRCC since 2010 and love to help students discover the power of their own voices as they develop their overall literacy skills.  My goal is to prepare students to thoroughly and efficiently navigate texts and writing assignments so that they leave my classes equipped with skills for success in future college courses, the workplace, or whatever life's next step may be. Primarily, I teach ESL courses as well as EN 097 and EN 101.

I hold a BA in English with an emphasis on secondary education as well as an M.Ed. TESOL from Grand Valley State University. Currently, I am earning an MFA in Creative Writing with a focus on poetry from Western Michigan University.

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy screening poetry submissions for local presses. You can also find me painting, gardening, and going to the movies with family and friends.
