Safety and Security Services

Pursuant to Section 217a(5) Public Act 120 of 2024, the safety and security services provided by Grand Rapids Community College include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • GRCC Police Department with 14 sworn law enforcement officers with full arrest powers.
  • Officers respond to all criminal complaints on campus.
  • Officers respond to motor vehicle incidences on campus.
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Motorist Assist: Dead batteries and vehicle lock-outs.
  • Monitor campus surveillance cameras

Annual Security Report

Campus security policies and crime prevention statistics pursuant to the student right to know and campus security act, Public Law 101-542, 104 Stat 2381. Information shall include all material prepared pursuant to the public information reporting requirements under the crime awareness and campus security act of 1990, title II of the student right to know and campus security act, Public Law 101-542 104 Stat 2381 and the federal campus SaVE act of 2013, Public Law 113-4, section 304, 127 Stat 54.

Get Help Resources

Student Get Help resources for assistance with emergency funding, housing, domestic violence and more.

A copy of the GRCC's Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for review. This report is required by the federal law and contains statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on-campus; in certain non-campus buildings or property owned and controlled by GRCC; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The ASR also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning sexual misconduct, emergency procedures, and other matters. This report is available online at https://www.grcc.edu/annual-security-report. You can also request a hard copy by visiting the GRCC Police. If you would like to receive a printed copy of the ASR, you can stop by the GRCC Police Department at 25 Lyon Street NE or you can request a copy be mailed to you by calling (616) 234-4012.
