Kim serves as an Academic Advisor for GRCC’s Promise Zone program, where she is dedicated to helping students feel supported, encouraged, and confident as they navigate their academic and personal goals. She focuses on holistic, relationship-centered advising—guiding students through orientation, program exploration, success strategies, and connecting them with the resources they need to thrive.
Kim began her educational journey at GRCC before transferring to Grand Valley State University, where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Higher Education with a focus on College Student Affairs Leadership. As a former adult-returning, first-generation college student, she is passionate about empowering students who may not see themselves as “traditional,” helping them navigate college with confidence and belonging.
Her professional experience includes roles in Academic Advising, Admissions and Enrollment, Financial Aid and Scholarships, and Academic Success, as well as teaching Introduction to College: New Student Experience courses. She has also presented at MIACADA, contributed to campuswide workshops on mindfulness and well-being, and participates in GRCC’s Exercise is Medicine initiative.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys family adventures with her husband and daughter, staying active, and creating uplifting fitness and wellness content through her small business, _Watch Kim Flow_.
