- Memory, sequencing and organization
- Considerations for Instruction:
- Use organized, structured course schedules
- Preview your lecture, explain how it relates to the previous lesson, and explain why it is important for the course objectives
- Post class notes before or after class
- Use Camtasia to record your lectures and make them available to students if needed (captioning would be required for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students)
- Present material in a variety of ways, not only through lecture
- Use visual aids, hands on materials, videos, lectures, computer assignments to enhance learning
- Reasonable Accommodations May Include:
- Textbooks in electronic format that can be read aloud
- Copies of classmate’s or instructor’s notes or Power Point presentations
- Audio-recording lectures
- Use of lap top for note taking or note management
- Extended time for tests
- Reduced distraction testing environment
- Breaks allowed during tests or the ability to test in chunks/sections
- Use of computer to type out essay, short answer
- Calculator, spell-checker, spelling to not count against grade, reader, or scribe for tests
