Description
• Assist Instructors and Assistant to the Instructor maintain a healthy and safe classroom.
• Prepare lunch for children, supervise during mealtime, and clean up after lunch.
• Setting out cots for rest/naptime.
• Assist children in falling asleep for nap, and/or engaging quietly when they wake up.
• Assisting in washing dishes and laundry for the classroom.
• Model appropriate and effective teaching and caregiving practices at all times.
• Flexibility to move from one classroom to another when necessary.
• Participate in and complete all staff development/trainings required.
• Maintain all necessary licensing and accreditation requirements to work in an early childhood setting including physical, TB test, mandated compliance trainings, and Michigan Child Care Clearance Check (fingerprints).
• Provide literacy instruction through reading to individual children and to groups of children. Implement activities around Language, Literacy and Communication with individual or small groups of children.
