New Student Orientation Ambassador

● Welcome new students and guests to campus and serve as a role model
● Help students learn how to navigate GRCC’s campus, to ease their transition into college
● Assist with orientation check-in and assist program staff with technology and logistical needs
● Respond properly to questions regarding academic, social, and general campus information
● Assist and deliver presentations regarding college programs, services, and student technology
● Provide support with orientation preparation and maintenance i.e. assembling information packets/mailings, making telephone calls, scheduling appointments, distributing surveys etc.
● Conduct campus tours per a program script and acquaint students with campus buildings
● Support other departments and offices affiliated with orientation
● Support other Student Life, Admissions, and Orientation programming as scheduled, such as RaiderRally
● Assist in answering phone calls, text messages, emails and other inquiries in regards to the college and its admission process
● Other duties as assigned

● Must be enrolled in at least six credits during current semester
● Continuing employment in ambassador position through upcoming summer term is preferred
● Complete student ambassador training as part of position onboarding
● Strong communication skills, and ability to work effectively with people of diverse ages, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds
● Ability to speak in public to small groups (20-30 students)
● Follow established dress code guidelines
● Project a professional image and appearance
● Must have a track record of excellent punctuality and good attendance
● Ability to work with others to complete mutual goals
● Ability to work on a large team
● Excellent command of the English language, oral and written
● Experience leading small groups preferred, including campus tours
● Excellent customer service skills
● Familiarity with basic computer functions (word, excel, e-mail, etc.) and campus software (Online Student Center, e-mail, Blackboard, etc.)
● Be willing to work in a virtual and in-person environment
● Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
